FIFA President Gianni Infantino has responded to the rising concerns regarding ticket prices for the 2026 World Cup, emphasizing that these prices are aligned with American market realities.
Infantino pointed out that the United States boasts the strongest entertainment industry globally, stating that attending even a college game typically costs over $300. He argued that such pricing is justified for an event of the World Cup’s magnitude.
Additionally, Infantino addressed the topic of ticket resales, which are permitted in the United States. He noted that pricing tickets too low could inadvertently encourage scalpers to resell them at significantly inflated prices.
He urged fans to disregard the exorbitant figures often portrayed in the secondary market, asserting that a listing price, such as $2 million for a final ticket, does not reflect the actual value.
