Manchester United Achieves Champions League Qualification as Women’s Stars Shine

Manchester United’s 2025/26 campaign has seen an incredible turnaround, bouncing back from 15th place last season to end third overall.

With Ruben Amorim sacked in January 2026, Michael Carrick came in as interim manager, not only steadying the ship, but turning the whole club around.

Now, The Red Devils are headed back into the Champions League, with all three of their summer attacking signings scoring double figures in their debut season.

However, another standout new signing has been in Marc Skinner’s Women’s side as Jess Park has hit the ground running, establishing herself as vital to the side.

As such, the midfielder has officially earned a spot in the Barclays Women’s Super League Team of the Season for 2025/26.

Alongside her, teammate Maya Le Tissier was also included in the squad, making United the second most represented side in the team behind Manchester City.

Taking to Manchester United’s official website, the club announced the news, commenting: “Both Maya Le Tissier and Jess Park have earned a place in the WSL’s Team of the Season.”

The announcement continued: “Our captain, Le Tissier, played every minute of United’s 22 league games this season, a model of consistency, professionalism and leadership at the back.

“The centre-back has also been key creatively: progressing the ball out of defence, converting a penalty to notch her only WSL goal this season, and providing two assists – all, coincidentally, across our two meetings with London City Lionesses.

“Park also found joy against the London-based side, notching one of her six league goals in that Progress With Unity Stadium meeting back in February.

“Added to her five assists in the competition, it’s been a productive debut United season for the 24-year-old, following her move last summer from Manchester City, making her credentials for this XI clear.
