Manchester United Aims to Conclude Successful Season Against Brighton

Manchester United approaches the final phase of the Premier League season with their campaign already deemed a success under manager Michael Carrick, who has led the team to a top-three finish.

The Red Devils have displayed steady improvement throughout the year.

With Champions League football secured for next season, the team now aims to finish the season on a professional note.

The trip to the Amex Stadium on Sunday provides a final opportunity to cap off a strong league campaign.

United’s position in third is mathematically secure, regardless of outcomes on the final matchday. However, maintaining pride and momentum remains essential as the season concludes.

Attention has also shifted to squad fitness, as a few key players are currently dealing with injuries ahead of the fixture.

Injury Update Ahead of Brighton vs. Manchester United Match

Matthijs de Ligt has been out since late November due to a persistent back issue and has recently undergone surgery, with the defender aiming for a return next season.

Meanwhile, striker Benjamin Sesko has missed the last two matches with a shin injury and is a doubt for the trip to Brighton.

Brighton & Hove Albion, United’s opponents on Sunday, still have all to play for as they pursue European qualification on the season’s final day.

Fabian Hurzeler’s side is currently in seventh place and knows that a victory over United would secure them a spot in the Europa League, with a slim chance for a Champions League position depending on other results.

However, Brighton is also managing injury issues ahead of the crucial matchup at the Amex.

Winger Kaoru Mitoma is ruled out after suffering a hamstring injury during the 3-0 victory over Wolves and will miss the remainder of the season, including this summer’s World Cup.

Defender Adam Webster is also unavailable due to a long-term ACL injury sustained during pre-season, which has kept him out for the entire campaign.

Striker Stefanos Tzimas remains sidelined with an ACL injury he picked up earlier in the season during a match against Aston Villa, adding to Brighton’s attacking challenges.

There is some positive news regarding Mats Wieffer, as the Dutch midfielder is recovering from an ankle issue and could potentially be in contention to return for the final game.

As both teams face contrasting pressures—United looking to finish strongly while Brighton fights for a European spot—the final-day clash promises to deliver intensity at both ends of the Premier League table as the season reaches its close.
