Brazilian forward João Pedro may soon join Barcelona as the Catalan club seeks alternatives amid ongoing challenges with Julián Álvarez’s transfer negotiations.
Barcelona’s sporting director Deco has reportedly identified the 24-year-old Brazilian Chelsea forward as the team’s new primary transfer target. This decision comes as negotiations with Atlético Madrid over Álvarez remain complex, compounded by interest from Paris Saint-Germain in the Argentine player.
In response to these complications, Barcelona’s management has shifted their focus, already making an offer to Chelsea. Negotiations between the two clubs are currently in progress.
This season, João Pedro has had an impressive performance for Chelsea, featuring in 48 matches, scoring 20 goals, and providing 9 assists. Transfermarkt values him at €75 million, and he is under contract with the London club until 2033.
