Cedric Kaze, the head coach of Kaizer Chiefs, has expressed his views on the current season of the Betway Premiership, noting a higher level of competition among teams. Kaze stated that unlike previous seasons, there has been no single dominant team this year.

Historically, Mamelodi Sundowns have exhibited significant dominance in the league for the past eight seasons, during which Kaizer Chiefs have not finished in the top three. However, this season appears to be a turning point, with Orlando Pirates potentially poised to take the title from Sundowns—an outcome many did not anticipate. Additionally, the Chiefs’ presence in the top three is also seen as unexpected.

Kaze expressed satisfaction with the progress of the Chiefs, noting, “Yeah, I would say that the league this season, there was not any dominating team in the league this season.” He emphasized that many teams were competing closely, and reflected on the lessons learned from earlier in the season, particularly regarding points accumulated through late January.

He further remarked on the noticeable difference in points this season compared to previous years, asserting that the current team is deserving of greater success. “But if you see about the difference between the points that we have now this season comparing with the previous seasons, it’s true that there is a big difference, but as well this team deserves better things,” Kaze added.
