Chippa United has appointed Brandon Truter as the club’s fifth coach this season, following a disappointing run in the Betway Premiership. Reports indicate that Truter has signed a deal that includes an option to remain with the team beyond this Saturday’s pivotal game.

Truter, who previously coached Moroka Swallows and Sekhukhune United, has been introduced to the players at Chippa United. This season, the team has witnessed a series of coaching changes, with Sinethemba Badela, Luc Eymael, Vusumuzi Vilakazi, and Hlanga Dikeni all having managed the squad.

Currently sitting fourth from bottom in the league with 25 points, Chippa’s fate heavily relies on the performances of teams below them, namely Marumo Gallants and Orbit College, both of whom have 24 points. A victory for either could see Chippa drop into the 15th spot, which would trigger a relegation/promotion play-off.

The decision to hire Truter comes after Chippa’s recent 2-0 defeat to Golden Arrows, a loss that prompted the urgent need for a coaching change ahead of their upcoming match against Kaizer Chiefs at Moses Mabhida Stadium this Saturday.
