Columbus Crew striker Wessam Abou Ali will miss the remainder of the season due to a torn right ACL, the club announced on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old Palestine international also suffered meniscus damage in his knee during the recent 1-1 draw against Orlando City.

Abou Ali leads the Crew and ranks fourth in MLS with five goals in seven matches this season. He has a total of eight goals and two assists across 12 career regular-season games with the team.

“I will be back stronger than before, and I’m excited to begin this comeback journey with my loved ones,” Abou Ali shared on Instagram.

Abou Ali, one of the Crew’s three designated players, joined from Egypt’s Al Ahly in July 2025 for a reported $7.5 million transfer fee, plus potential add-ons of up to $1 million.

Crew coach Henrik Rydstrom has several options to fill Abou Ali’s position, including Nariman Akhundzada, Jamal Thiare, and 17-year-old homegrown forward Chase Adams.
