Deportivo Alaves has confirmed that Ivorian striker Ibrahim Diabate will not be retained following the conclusion of his loan spell in Spain. Diabate, who joined the club from Swedish team GAIS in February 2026, is set to return to his original club.
The 26-year-old forward participated in 10 matches during his time in La Liga, contributing two goals to the team’s efforts in the 2025–2026 season. Notably, he scored against FC Barcelona on 13 May 2026, marking a highlight of his stay in Spain.
Following his departure from Deportivo Alaves, Diabate will rejoin GAIS, where he remains under contract until December 2028. The announcement of his return was made on 19 June.
