The tension between La Liga and Real Madrid has escalated following a public dispute between the presidents of both organizations. La Liga president Javier Tebas has responded to remarks made by Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez during a speech yesterday.
Tebas asserted that Pérez’s statements were unfounded, characterizing them as blatant fabrications. He expressed disappointment that Pérez, who has a notable business reputation, would resort to dishonesty in his public address.
“It’s sad that someone like Florentino, with his business reputation and everything he has done for Real Madrid, has to go public, lie, and say such things. Everyone knows that I’m a Real Madrid fan, even though I’m taking a break right now. I feel sorry for Real Madrid because you can’t keep lying all the time,” Tebas stated.
This ongoing conflict highlights a history of friction between La Liga and Real Madrid, with Pérez frequently voicing criticism of Tebas and the league.
