An intriguing decision has emerged from Spain’s head coach Luis de la Fuente regarding the national team’s lineup for the opening World Cup match.

According to reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano on social network X, de la Fuente has opted not to include Barcelona‘s young star Lamine Yamal in the starting eleven for the game against Cape Verde. This decision has raised questions among fans, who are concerned that Yamal may have sustained an injury preventing him from playing the full match.

Last season, Yamal demonstrated his talent by featuring in 45 matches for Barcelona, scoring 24 goals and providing 18 assists. His absence from the starting lineup is notable, given his impressive performance in the preceding season.

In the World Cup, Spain is positioned in Group H, where they will compete against Cape Verde, Uruguay, and Saudi Arabia.
