Leeds United Eyes Sunderland Forward Wilson Isidor Ahead of Summer Transfer Window
Sunderland forward Wilson Isidor has emerged as a potential target for Leeds United as the summer transfer window approaches. The 25-year-old appears increasingly likely to seek a move after losing his place in Régis Le Bris’ starting lineup. Isidor played a significant role in Sunderland’s promotion campaign but has seen his playing time diminish since Brian Brobbey assumed the striker position at the Stadium of Light. He has not started a Premier League match since early December and has managed just one goal in his last 24 appearances, fueling speculation about his future at Wearside.
Sunderland Faces Critical Decision on Wilson Isidor Amid Leeds Interest
In a recent episode of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Pete O’Rourke commented that several clubs may pursue Isidor, provided Sunderland does not overstate their asking price. He pointed out that Leeds is looking to enhance their attacking lineup this summer, and while Isidor is on their radar, he does not top their priority list.
Sunderland previously sought around £25 million for Isidor in January—a figure that deterred some clubs—but that sum could be reduced in the upcoming summer window. In 30 Premier League matches, Isidor has scored five goals, boasts a 40% shot accuracy, and averages 5.08 touches in the box per 90 minutes.
“He’s under contract until 2028, and as long as Sunderland don’t ask for silly money, I think there’ll be a number of clubs who would be interested in Isidor.
“Leeds obviously will be looking to add to their attacking options in the summer as well, but yeah, I’m sure Isidor is on the list but not necessarily high up on it.”
