Barcelona Nears LaLiga Title After Victory Over Osasuna

Marcus Rashford and Barcelona now sit on the verge of winning LaLiga following the club’s 2-1 victory over Osasuna.

Rashford himself was able to get an assist in the game as he crossed the ball for Robert Lewandowski to head into the net for Barça’s opening goal.

Ferran Torres later made it 2-0 although a late goal from Osasuna’s Raül Garcia made the game nervy for the last part.

The victory moves Barcelona 14 points clear of Real Madrid in second place, with Madrid scheduled to play on Sunday against Espanyol.

Failure to win will see Hansi Flick’s side win LaLiga for the second year in a row and for the third time in four seasons.

The Spanish media have now been reacting as Marcus Rashford put in one of his last performances for Barcelona in his first loan spell at the club.

AS commented on his chance, stating “he played on the right wing again and this time he delivered a great cross to Lewandowski to head home.”

Rashford’s second goal contribution in two games attracted the attention of Marca, too, who explained that he “delivered a superb, perfectly weighted pass to the Pole [Robert Lewandowski]” whilst also adding that he “continues to pressure Flick to exercise his option to buy.”

SPORT gave the 28-year-old a 7/10 whilst also commenting that he remains “one of the most unpredictable players in the Barça squad” and that he “never ceases to amaze.”

Barca Universal also provided their perspective, awarding Marcus Rashford an 8/10, and adding that he “came on in the second half and made an immediate impact with his through balls and crosses, one of which fell perfectly for Lewandowski and paved the way for Barcelona’s opening goal late in the game.”

Looking at an English perspective, Rashford also was given Man of the Match by BBC Sport in their fan-rated post-match numbers.

Marcus Rashford’s influence continues to be evident, as seen in the reaction of those in Spain.

It is yet to be decided whether the English international will return to Old Trafford or remain in Spain following this season, but is “happier than he has been in a long time” this season, signalling the positivity of his spell at Barcelona.

Regardless, it looks likely that he will become a LaLiga winner with Barcelona, a title victory that may be celebrated against Real Madrid on Sunday 10th May.
