The loss effectively ends their title race as Orlando Pirates now only require three points from their remaining two matches to secure the championship they have not won in 14 years.
Cardoso expressed his disappointment over the current situation, stating, “Let’s see what’s gonna happen, but it’s tough because I really wanted to be on that position top.” He emphasized that the rigorous calendar was a major factor in their decline, noting that Sundowns had previously achieved 11 consecutive victories since January but have since drawn twice and suffered a loss.
