In the modern game, it has become very difficult for goalkeepers to score goals. Earlier the goalkeepers used to take penalties and free kicks as well but now these duties are confined to forwards only.

How in the world is a goalie able to score 131 goals? That is simply ridiculous. Well, being a very skilled set-piece taker does help. Ceni, who played for Sao Paulo more than a thousand times, was undoubtedly excellent at free kicks and composed when he scored from the penalty spot.
In characteristically outstanding form, he scored his 100th goal in his career. He won a game against arch rivals Corinthians in March 2011 by stepping up from approximately 25 yards out and curling in a beautiful free-kick. It’s unlikely that Ceni’s record will ever fall off the top of this list..

In addition to playing for Strasbourg in France and Zaragoza in Spain, the Paraguayan once scored a free kick from his own half for Velez against River Plate.
Jorge Campos
The legendary Mexican goalie Jorge Campos is remembered with affection for both his skill at scoring goals and his gorgeously colored jerseys. He wore clothes as colorful and quirky as any the game had ever seen.

The number of South Americans on this list is noteworthy.
