Manchester United Targets Young Talent as Summer Transfer Plans Develop
With only two weeks left in the Premier League season, focus is shifting to the summer ahead, including the 2026 World Cup and the upcoming transfer window.
Manchester United is planning new signings, aiming to add three midfield players, a left-winger, and a full-back to their roster.
In addition to these ambitions, Manchester United’s recruitment efforts are extending into grassroots football. This week, the club confirmed it would welcome one of nine young players moving from a Greater Manchester academy program.
This announcement came from SK Football Club, which highlighted the transition of an entire Under-8s cohort into the professional academy system.
Nine players from this age group have been offered academy opportunities this summer, marking a significant achievement for SK FC and illustrating the organized grassroots pathways leading into EFL and Premier League academies in the region.
Among those players, Awab Hassan will join the United academy, moving from SK FC’s Under-8 Reds.
The remaining eight players from this cohort have signed with various clubs in the area, with Stockport County securing five of them, making it the largest single intake from this group.
Manchester United stands out as the only Premier League club for Hassan, while others from his group have signed with Huddersfield Town, Crewe Alexandra, and Port Vale.
Hassan’s signing was announced through SK FC’s social media channels and did not come from Manchester United, aligning with the club’s typical approach for the youngest academy levels.
At this early stage of his career, Awab Hassan begins his journey through the United academy ranks.
