Manchester United Faces Player Departures as Summer Transfer Window Approaches
Manchester United is gearing up for several player exits this summer, with Brazilian midfielder Casemiro among those set to leave Old Trafford at the season’s end.
Michael Carrick recently confirmed that Casemiro has already played his final game for the club. The upcoming match against Brighton will not feature the experienced midfielder, following an emotional farewell at Old Trafford last weekend.
In addition to Casemiro’s departure, there has already been movement involving attacking players in recent transfer windows. Alejandro Garnacho completed a move to Chelsea last summer after parting ways with Ruben Amorim.
Now, another player has officially announced his exit from Manchester United. Malachi Sharpe shared on Instagram that his five-year spell with the club has concluded ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 20-year-old expressed gratitude to the coaches, players, staff, and supporters in an emotional farewell message. Sharpe wrote: “After 5 years my time @manutd has come to an end! I want to say thank you to the coaches, players, staff and the fans for my incredible time with this amazing club.”
The Scottish winger had previously trained with the first team at Carrington and was regarded as one of the academy’s promising attackers. Unfortunately, injuries hampered parts of his development in recent seasons.
Despite these setbacks, Sharpe featured for United’s Under-21 team during the 2025/26 campaign, registering one assist in eight Premier League 2 appearances and starting seven matches. He also represented the club at the Under-19 level earlier in his academy journey.
Earlier this year, Malachi Sharpe spent time on trial at Burnley, participating in one game for their Under-21 side as he sought his next opportunity in professional football.
As preparations for the next season unfold, Manchester United is expected to continue making several academy decisions in the coming weeks.
