Miguel Cardoso has voiced his appreciation for the support message sent by former Mamelodi Sundowns coach, Pitso Mosimane. The message, which included good luck wishes for the team, comes as Sundowns prepare for their CAF Champions League first leg match against ASFAR.

The match recently concluded with Sundowns claiming a 1-0 victory, courtesy of an Aubrey Modiba free-kick at Loftus Versfeld. The team is now set to travel to Morocco for the return leg of the fixture this Sunday.

Cardoso expressed his enthusiasm at the prospect of meeting Mosimane, the only individual to have led Sundowns to a CAF Champions League trophy in 2016. “I didn’t have ever the privilege to cross paths with him or to meet him. I would be very pleased, obviously, to have that chance,” he remarked.

He further conveyed gratitude for Mosimane’s message, highlighting that it symbolizes enduring support for Sundowns. Cardoso emphasized the importance of solidarity and consistent backing from the country as they face the challenges of the entire season. “Any support will be welcome. And as I said, thank you very much for those words,” he added.
