Thabang Matuludi is set to join the Orlando Pirates following his participation in the ongoing World Cup with the South African national team, Bafana Bafana.
The Bafana Bafana right-back has finalized a three-year contract with the Betway Premiership champions, which includes an option for an additional year.
Matuludi’s signing effectively ends speculation regarding a potential move to Kaizer Chiefs, who had also expressed interest in securing his services. This situation mirrors that of Oswin Appollis, who was linked to the Chiefs but ultimately joined the Pirates.
With Thabiso Lebitso’s recent transfer to Stellenbosch FC, the Pirates view Matuludi as an ideal replacement for the departed defender. He is expected to compete for the right-back position alongside Deeno Van Rooyen.
